News Help others by donating to Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation’s Christmas campaign
The Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation’s Christmas campaign is encouraging people to help others with a simple gesture and a donation. A special Christmas tree in the Schulthess Klinik entrance area is the visual representation of the campaign and the Foundation’s important work. Simone Marquart, the department head at the Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation who’s behind the campaign, explains the significance of the tree and the huge impact of every donation.
Christmas is a time for coming together, showing solidarity and giving to others. This year, the Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation’s Christmas campaign is providing visitors, patients and employees with a special opportunity to embrace the spirit of Christmas and help others. At the heart of all the action is a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the Schulthess Klinik entrance area. “We wanted a visual representation of the Foundation’s charitable work that would prompt people to do their bit then and there,” explains Simone Marquart, who created the campaign. “It’s a nice way to make a small donation that will have a huge impact.”
Convenient contribution
It couldn’t be easier to make a donation. People who come into the clinic can pick a bauble representing the amount they’d like to donate. Then they need to make that donation and add their bauble to the tree. Donations are being accepted in cash or via the TWINT payment app.
The baubles on the tree look pretty – but they also indicate where exactly each donation will go. Donations can be earmarked to support the work of the Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation, the Patient Assistance Fund or the Research Fund. The amount isn’t important – even the smallest contributions will go towards improving patient care, advancing research and helping people in need.
Life-changing donations
The real impact of the Patient Assistance Fund is brought to life through the stories of the people who have benefitted. The fund helps children and teenagers with serious orthopaedic conditions to access the treatment and care they need to improve their quality of life. This support gives them the opportunity to live their life to the full – without pain or physical limitations.
Collective good at Christmas
The donations will also be used to advance research projects that will ultimately improve the work being done at the clinic day in, day out. The results of this research continue to improve the standard of treatment, which is good news for patients at Schulthess Klinik and the wider medical community. Every donation to the Christmas campaign will genuinely have a huge impact and support the Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation in its work to improve people’s lives. The Christmas campaign highlights the charitable side of Schulthess Klinik by bringing people together to help others collectively.
About the Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation
Schulthess Klinik became a non-profit foundation in 1935. As one of the world’s leading orthopaedic centres, our priority is people and not profit. We’re on a mission to improve the mobility and quality of life of every single one of our patients.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be adding more articles to the Schulthess Klinik website to tell the stories of the children and teenagers whose lives have been improved with the support of the Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation’s Patient Assistance Fund.
And don’t forget that you can give to the Christmas campaign online if you’re not going to be coming into the clinic in person.
