Forchstrasse Work Starting February 2024

Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VBZ) is working strategically to optimize the public transport network. To accommodate the rising demand for transport in the growing health cluster of Lengg, VBZ will be increasing capacity between Stadelhofen and Rehalp when the timetable is updated in 2026.

The city of Zurich will also be maintaining the infrastructure by updating the platforms, cabling and road surface on Forchstrasse (the section between Apollostrasse and Hegibachplatz). The crosswalks will also be updated to improve road safety.
This work will start on Monday, February 12, 2024, and is expected to be finished by November 2024.

During this time, Forchstrasse will become a one-way street, with traffic heading out of town. Traffic heading into town will be rerouted via Freiestrasse toward Central and via Neumünsterstrasse, Höschgasse toward Bellevue.

Tram line 11 will not be operating between Stadelhofen Station and Rehalp between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. from Monday, February 19, 2024, to Friday, May 31, 2024. S18 Forchbahn trains will only be running between Hegibachplatz and Esslingen/Forch while the work is being carried out. Replacement buses will run between Stadelhofen Station and Rehalp. The 31 bus heading into town will be rerouted via Römerhofplatz between Klusplatz and Kreuzplatz.
