News Prof. Dr. Markus Scheibel invited to Mayo Clinic as visiting professor

Great honour and pleasure: at the end of August, Prof. Dr Markus Scheibel was invited by Dr Joaquin Sanchez-Sotelo, Head of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, to be a visiting professor at the famous Mayo Clinic in the USA. He presented on innovative treatment concepts for shoulder injuries and conditions in lectures while he was there.

The Mayo Clinic is a world-renowned, non-profit healthcare organisation in Rochester in the US state of Minnesota. It was named as the best hospital in the United States by US News & World Report magazine between 2020 and 2023. The clinic even took the top spot in the 2021 and 2023 global rankings by Newsweek magazine. 

Prof. Dr. med. Markus Scheibel gave a number of lectures to the faculty as visiting professor at the end of August. He spoke about the Schulthess Klinik’s concepts for treating complex proximal humerus fractures, shoulder instability and rotor cuff legions. By accepting the invitation to be a visiting professor at the Mayo Clinic, he has contributed to Schulthess Klinik’s ongoing strategy of strengthening international links and building on research partnerships with leading clinics around the world.
