News New Textbook for Hand Surgery
Dr. med. Stephan Schindele, our Co-Head of Hand Surgery, has published a new textbook entitled «Arthroplasty in Hand Surgery», which he co-edited with renowned hand surgeons Dr Grey Giddins from the UK and Dr Philippe Bellemère from France. The book provides comprehensive descriptions of surgical procedures on the hand and finger joints using prostheses.
The textbook’s 35 chapters were written by international experts, including Schulthess Klinik’s own Dr. med. Stephan Schindele, Dr. med. Daniel Herren, Dr. med. Michael Brodbeck and Dr. phil. Miriam Marks, who each contributed a few chapters. This richly illustrated text is aimed both at young, up-and-coming surgeons and experienced orthopaedists and hand surgeons. The book uses sound scientific research to examine the anatomy and biomechanics of the hand, as well as the current standards in artificial joint replacement for the fingers, thumb and wrist.
«Arthroplasty in Hand Surgery» was adopted by the European Society of Hand Surgery (FESSH) as its 2020 Instructional Course Book.
