News Hand Surgery and Research team wins two awards at FESSH Congress
The Schulthess Klinik’s Hand Surgery and Research team were on fine form at this year’s FESSH (Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand) Congress, where they made 27 appearances. The team’s efforts were rewarded with the Top-Cited Papers Award and silver Medartis Best Paper Award.
Hand surgery specialists gathered in Rotterdam at the end of June to present their latest research. Our Hand Surgery and Research team gave presentations, hosted workshops and delivered live operations to share recent findings on the treatment of patients with orthopaedic hand conditions. The intense interaction with top surgeons and researchers from around the world has given us plenty of valuable insights that we can feed into our everyday clinical practice to help our patients.
Our research findings were well received by colleagues at the congress. The positive response to our work culminated in two awards. The Schulthess Klinik team was delighted to win the Top-Cited Papers Award and the silver Medartis Best Paper Award. We received these honours for our publication with the title ‘Surface replacing arthroplasty of the proximal interphalangeal joint using the CapFlex-PIP implant: a prospective study with 5-year outcomes’ by Vanessa Reischenböck, Miriam Marks, Daniel B. Herren and Stephan Schindele.
