News Dr Daniel Herren is Secretary General of the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH)

Our Head of Hand Surgery, Dr Daniel Herren, took office as FESSH Secretary General in September.

The FESSH is the European umbrella organisation of national societies for hand surgery. Its main aim is to promote cooperation between hand surgeons in Europe, for example, through an annual congress, joint training events and the award of travel and research grants. The Secretary General is the chairperson of FESSH and its various committees and is elected for a term of three years.

After six years on the Board of Directors as financial officer, Daniel Herren is especially happy about being elected and has some plans: «In the next three years as the chairperson of the society, I would like to support above all the training of young hand surgeons, research and communication between European hand surgeons.»

We would like to congratulate him on being elected and we wish him lots of joy and success in this role!
